Shocked Wow!

Anyway, I can't wait to see pics of your cloak.  I wore a Halloween one to work once to keep warm.  Everyone thought I was crazy, but it sure was cozy.

Oy, I think the cat has realized I'm on a campaign to get rid of her... she is trying to be... I don't know if sweet is the right word, but... nonviolent... for a while, I think. She has done this before, and always relapses into violence agaion.

I have also decided I am distinctlyh below average height.... I cut off a full 9" off the bottom of my cloak. it is now floor length. These things are either sized for giants, or i am just that much below average height. sicne when was average height for a woman approximately 12' tall? seriously, the cape pattern pieces(from heightsest point of shoulder down) measured in at 60". I am 60". !!!!

also, at least until the winter chill fully sets in, I am definately a cloak convert. I wore it out to the shop last night, since i had to basically babysit paul to make sure he didn't accidentally paass out on red hot metal...  it was in the low 50s last night, but with the addition of my favorite sweater(which odddly enough almost matches the cloak*cue twilight zone music*(which, oddly enough, is nearly the same color as our bathtowels, which freakily enough are a close match to the fabric I'm still awaiting the arrival of)  ...I was toasty warm. it also protected me from flying spakrs and wires better than a coat would. speaking of which, I applogize for any typos, I will go back and correct them later... I have my glasses off and I've been awake for ... lessee... aproximmately 38 hours now? ... g'night all... hope your day goes as well as mine will (I shall be asleep, my favorite state)

Patterns usually do run huge. The good thing about making your own clothes is that you can modify them easily.

60" is indeed below average height for a woman, but you know what, little sis? I'm only 63"! Shortness is something to be grateful for because we can date short, medium and tall guys and it always looks cute. Tall girls aren't so lucky.  Wink

Definately... I found out a few minutes ago that I have access to three full rolls of full size blank newsprint... guess who's tracing and modifying patterns for the next... forever? hehee... I have to say, McCalls has gone downhill in the past few years... the paper the chemise pattern I got is printed on, is so thin that it seriously, honestly comes pre-holed. like, I don't even have to wait for time to wear holes in the paper... they're already there! I can read the lettering through four layers... That's the first to get copied over and modified. I don't think that pattern would last through one use. like if I stabbed it with a pin, it would literally disentegrate. *poke* *poof*

Anyway, I had been up, walking, and almost limp free, but I tripped going down the steps this morning (36 hours of no sleep and distracted by sun in my eyes) and now I'm back to hobbling and looking vaguely like Igor when I walk. Seriously, I look like I ought to be offering people brains in a mad scientist's lab. the cloak... doesn't help that image, honestly.

Hair: I haven't even showered since I hurt my ankle  since it's too painful to stand up for long (I have however washed with a washcloth, thank you, so no stinkies for me. well, not too bad.), and it was a week before that that I last washed my hair. It currently feels like I had a keg of olive oil poured over my head. I keep brushing with the BBB, and hoping that my sebum production will even out... but I have a feeling that if I don't wash my hair soon, it will literally start dripping. EWWW.

Offering my well wishes, Kiraela. I hope you're on the mend.

About the cat, I feel kind of sorry for the cruelty inflicted upon it, but it sounds too dangerous to have around. I hope that the, er, matter gets taken care of one way or another before someone gets hurt again. Undecided

Thanks for your well wishes, ladies. Unfortunately, I think I must have done something to my ankle while I slept... it hasn't hurt this bad for a couple of days now. Luckily, two tylenol and two ibuprofen ought to be enough to deal with it.

I think I'm almost ready to demote fall as my favorite season... I'm not sure why, but we've been invaded by geckos. For the past few weeks, the cats have been catching two or three a day, and missing at least one, LOL. Today, the darned black demon almost killed my sewing machine, and scattered an entire medicine bottle full of pins across the floor, trying to get at a gecko. I managed to chase her off, catch the dang thing, and toss it outside. turning around, there were three more staring at me from my ironing board. THREE. that weren't there a second ago.  there was also a different gecko(darker and bigger) on the toilet a few minutes ago. WHAT THE HECK?! we are not a gosh darned gecko hotel. Is the universe sending me a subliminal message? "change your car insurance.... "*spooky ghost noises*
Roll Eyes I'm getting really tired of the lizards.

I'd never seen a gecko until my move to Georgia.  Now, I see them daily crawling around my gazebo and even once in my house.  Personally, I  think they're cute but I'm quite sure if I had a true invasion I'd think differently.  I hope you can catch them or somehow get them out of your house because I know from experience that they are very fast.  My one cat loves hunting them.

Pretty much, exept for that one I rescued... the only way to get rid of them is through my cats' digestive systems, LOL. The good news is, they're getting more exercise, and I think happier because of it.  they've also been eating less cat food. yes, there's that many geckos.. the cats are eating enough of them to not eat as much regular food. I hope geckos are good for cats...

Hair: Finally washed! didnt' feel like seeing if it would, in fact, start dripping sebum. I figure when I touch my hair, accidentally brush my glasses, and have to go get dishwashing liquid to get the grease film off the lens... it's time. Then again, today's been the first day I could stand up long enough to take a full shower, too... and my ankle is killing me now. I shampooed twice, once with april bath and shower's Citrus, and again with Ice shine, then conditioned twice with ice shine, leaving it on 15 min each time. I'm going to have to do a massive S&D soon, this greasebomb experiment left my poor ends dry and starting to split. NEVER AGAIN!

I've spent most of my day either asleep(got to bed at 5 AM due to paul's wonky work schedule during the dark months), Ironing(8 yards is a bloody lot of fabric. expecially heavy flannel... ) or sewing. I also acquired Seether's newest CD, and have been jamming out to that. I don't understand, however, why they seem to have gone all 'christian-rock' on us.. I mean, done properly I've no problem with c-rock. But... most of the genre that I've heard has this eerily similar sound... as if they all have a sheet printed with lyrics, and they just shuffle lines, and all the music is very similar also. its'... weird. maybe I was just forced to listen to the wrong stuff, IDK> all in all, most of the songs on the Seether CD are completely awesome, though.  4/5.

Shocked

Wow, cats are brutal. Grin  I always thought that if my cats caught a gecko there would be no way they would actually eat them but today my sweet little cat caught and killed a bird.  She also brought it in the house and tried to eat it.  My husband scooped the poor thing up (as my cat growled at him Shocked) and disposed of it outside.

Well, I've almost finished the dress, I've just got to aquire some sort of boning, add it, and then finish the inside. It's even more comfortable than I thought it would be.  Smiley

Hair: down, brushed, and trying to keep it behind my shoulders for a while. It's not working. I love it anyway... even if it does follow orders even worse than my cat.

75% off halloween candy. A rather large bag of orange and black whoppers, and York peppermint batties. yes, Bat-ties. hee. Cutest things ever. I'm happy. And attempting to maintain self control. Otherwise I'd eat the entire bag of whoppers in one sitting. mmm.. malted milk balls.

An easy way to save a stranger's life. Simply download a virus free text file from her, and when she gets 5,000,000 download reward points, she'll get 10,000$, to go towards multiple brain surgeries. www.projecterin.com. NO, I don't know her in person. Does that matter? Please click that link, check out her story... download the text file... maybe even save a life?

For those that don't read my journal, I'm going to put this in the off topic section.
