Hey, RTG!!!  I am glad you are back.  I hope you are doing okay.  So sorry for your loss.

Work is GREAT.  My phobias about being at work are gone.  I enjoy it just like I used to and I feel strong there...if you know what I mean.  Next week is my last week of 3 days a week and then I change to 4 days a week.  That will be a real challenge.  I am not nervous about the work, just about whether I can handle it ok.  I chose to do 4 days in a row instead of taking Weds off.  I think that will help me get ready for 5 in a row better.  And if I have trouble, I will simply switch which days I work so that I have Weds off and Friday on.  So far, work is great, the house is running well, the hubby is completely out of my life (he will be charged with harassment if he calls, emails or shows himself here again.  My life is truly starting over...and I am happy with that.

Now if I could just lose the extra 40 lbs of me!!!  Sadly it is way to hot to run right now.  It is more than 40 degrees out there this week, and since body temp it 38 point something, there is no way I can run and hope to regulate my body temperature, especially since I am so out of shape.  I have said I want to do at least a half marathon next year.  I am thinking about a sprint triathalon too.  Training to bike and run is not hard...it will be training for the swimming that is hard.  Still, a sprint marathon is not big.  It is just a 5 km run, a 0.5 km swim and a 20 km bike ride...and to be honest...I do not wish to win or anything...just to be able to do it in a reasonable amount of time.  I am usually very competetive (sp?) but right now, just being able to finish a half marathong and do the triathalon would make me happy!!!  OH, I say training for the swim would be hard because of finding the time to train.  It is not the swin itself.  With work, the house, 2 hours of driving a day, the cats, my again parents (not that they need a lot...but they need help with some things) and then needing to rest with my disease...time is short!!

I am hoping that once I get my behind going, people here will be my moral support coaches.  I have no doubt.  Everyone here is so supportive.  On that note, I am going to check the local pool fall events and see if I can get my fat ... behind into something that fits with my schedule!

Oh, and a friend of mine downloaded that program I spent 12 wasted hours trying to do today.  He put it on a disc and did it for me at work.  Isn't it great to have friends.  Now my computer is compatible with work which is great because (haveing an hour drive to work) my boss lets me work at home if the weather is bad (freezing rain, excessive snow).

glad to hear you are getting in the swing of a work week again. good luck with the extra day-you can do it! and you'll find time for some excercise. is there anything you could do inside at your house while it's so hot? i have a yoga dvd and pilates dvd, and they get me moving when i don' have time for anything else.

http://braidedimage.com/

I've been hunting and finally found it!  On this website you can order dvds on how to braid your own hair.  I have both of them and find them very informative.

http://www.hairrific.com/bridalstylesmadesimple.htm

I also recommend this dvd.  Don't freak out 'cause it says bridal styles, its a really good dvd.  I finally "got it" on how to do a rope braid from this dvd.

Have fun learning to braid!  You're at a really good length to start!!

Wow, all kinds of fun things wehen I came on tonight.  I LOVE this site.

Curlygirl...yup..cool when things start working out.

RTG, Thans for your support about my work weeks.  Nice to know people are rooting me on.

Sakina, funnily enough I was coming on to talk to you.  Funny you responded to my journal at the same time.

As you know, Sakina, I have to use a tar shampoo at times.  I took your suggestion tonight and coated the length of my hair with conditioner before I did the scalp with the horrible tar shampoo.  It worked beautifully.  Thnx for the idea!!  To go one step futher...you suggested the curly girl hand book for me.  I had to use the oily mix to deal with my psoraisis and so my length was greasy.  I did not want to use poo so I did the 50/50 mix of conditioner and lemon juice and it did the job great!!! Thanx for the ideas on both fronts.  My hair liked that much better than what I would have done!!!!

You, Sakina, also suggested a particular non-poo and stuff to me and I told you the shipping for a $27 product was $53 bucks.  OUCH!!!!  To follow that up, I contacted the company and asked them what was up with that and they told me it was more than certainly a mistake.  I have to tell them exactly what I want and they will contact me with the right price.  Hopefully the shipping will be ok and I can try the trial kit you suggested.  Hope I can!!!

Sakina, thanx for the info about braiding, etc.  I will look it up!!!

Lisabelle, the snood you sent me is GREAT.  Having finally got the hair pins to keep it in place, I have worn it to work and had many complients.  Thank you  for your kindness!!! You are a saint.

Ok, that is all I have to say tonight.  Gotta run, animals want my attention in a BIG way.  Take care all.

Oh, BTW, I watched "Out o Africa" this morning.  I have seen it about 4 times and I still have not seen the begining of it or the ending of it (fustration).  If you are wondering why I brought this up, if you look at Susan's guide to ultimate hair care, she references it at least twice!!!

Ugh, been sick in bed all of yesterday and until about 3 today.  It think it was nothing more than the stress of returning to work and the ex and money thing.  Seem to pretty much fine.  However, I did not get the crown molding or painting done this weekend.  Oh well.  Shame since here it was a long weekend and it would have been a good time and I had plans for the next 2 long weekends.  Guess I will have to fit it into a normal week to stay on schedule and since the other 2 weekends are out door weekends, I cannot mess around with those!!

Good news, I have not heard from ex.  Of course, I have made that next to impossible to do...but we will see.  I cannot block him phoning me at work!!

Since I am only working 3 days a week this week, and Monday was a Civic Holiday, I am not at work until Weds, which is good because my house is really behind in terms of cleaning after being out after work on Friday and then sick the last couple of days.  I got some jobs done since I got up...but need to do more...which I might do tonight so I can live the life of leisure tomorrow...stay in bed, relax with my animals, enjoy the weather (assuming it will be nice!!).  Oh and I need the house looking great since the folks have to come to put my dogs out on Weds since yet again I have to be out after work.  I think next Weds is the last time I have to do something after work.  Good thing.  I can't take the 16-18 hour days!!!!

I dunno about you folks, but after being sick, I feel like I need to shower, wash my hair, wash my bedding and crack the windows!!!  If I wash my hair I cannot go to bed before 10 so I might as well vacuum, finish up laundry, clean the bathroom and dust the bedroom.  Then my house work is up to date.  Then I can wake up without any stresses and just putt through my day.  Next week a go to 4 days a week at work (Mon-Thurs) so I think I should soak up this time!!!

Ok, so that is the plan...shower, clean and bed.  Hmm, hair.  Well, being sick I did not do my usual dose of Curlygirl64 deep condition so maybe I will use AG Deep tonight, leave it on for an hour end up staying up until 11.  That should have me up by 8 feeling rested and I can spend the day reading a book before going back to work on Weds.

Oh ya, I watched the movie 'Premomition" with Sandra Bullock tonight.  It was kinda slow in places but I must say, the ending was not what I expected.  I wont give it away.  From the trailer though, you know her days get all screwed up (I mean in accordance with a timeline).  One thing I could not get (for those of you that have seen it) was why she did not put the stickers on the window when Sunday finally came around, when she knew what would happen if she hadn't done it by Weds!!!  For those of you that have not seen it, you will get what I mean when you do.

Take care all.  If I get all my chores done and my hair is still wet, I will check out journals since I see I am way behind again!!!

RTG, I am betting you are European.  I find that people here in Canada do not feel that need to freshen the house with fresh air after being sick (as a rule).  I think the reason is that in the winter it is AWFULLY cold here.  Window open (if you can get it open because it will likely be frozen shut) means you are frozen in about 10 minutes and then you might run the risk of the window freezing open which is VERY bad (nothing much you can do until a thaw...which could be a couple of months).  I live in Canada but my family (including both my siblings) where brought up in Europe so my families house is like a little piece of Europe in the middle of Canada.  When I was little and had just gotten over being ill, Mum would send me for a long hot bath while she changed the sheets and cleaned my room, then she would open the window and close the bedroom door (as I said, assuming she could open the window) and send me to sit in a blanket with a pillow in front of the fire until my bedroom warmed up again.  I think with heating costs and the terrible cold we can have in most parts of Canada, the fresh air after being sick...not always needed as much as you or I might need it!!!  Another problem in the part of Canada I live in, is that in the winter it can be minus 40 Celcius and in the summer it can be +40 Celcius in the summer so even in the summer it can be a problem because going into a room where you melt after venting it out, can be bad!!!  I really must look up what these temps are in F for you.  I will do that now, but I will post first incase I lose you all!!

Okay, did the conversion ( and did lose LL in the process).  Our temps typically range between -40f to 104f over a year.  I know that the city I live in is supposed to be the second coldest capital in the world (and I mean my country's capital..so no I am NOT in Toronto despite what many think...that is the capital of my province...I live in the capital of Canada).  Pls don't ask me what the first is.  Not living on the equator, I am kown we are no where near the warmest.   Hmm, no I am wondering where in the world (outside of the poles) has the widest variance in temp...something to look up tomorrow!!)

Hair is doing okay.  I just don't think it has grown at all in the past couple of months.  I am due for a trim and color in 2 weeks, but my roots aren't really showing yet so I dunno.  Frustration.

I got the scalp massager.  It is pretty good.  I have noticed that using the whipped cream, the aloe vera massage and the massager are making my psoriasis a bit better.

I can't remember if I mentioned I would like to train for a triathlon.  I looked into doing the master swimming course.  It runs from Sept - June, costs $500 and is 3 days a week.  The real problem is that on Tues and Thurs it is at 9:30.  That would put me home around 11 with wet hair, and up for work at 4 the next morning. I dunno.   Undecided  I mean, I don't want to make myself sick again!!  Oh ya, and of course it starts the first week I go full time!!

Saw my dermatologist yesterday.  He put me on new meds.  I think I mentioned that there is a treatment for my terrible nails (from psoriasis).  It involves needles under the nail.  He told me it would be extremely painful (talk about stating the obvious!!) and I would have to do it every 4 weeks for life.  Ok, not that vain!!!  He says they  might clear up now I am off the meds that made them so bad.  He said I will know if that is the case in about 6 months, although it will be a year before they fully heal if they will heal at all.  Say a little prayer for me.

That is it for me today.  Hope everyone is well.

Umm.  I forgot to check how many people had read this before I posted it.  Frankly folks, I want you all to hit me with your thoughts and opinions.  From extreme no to extreme yes and all in between, I just want some one else's opinion so I can think on.  Pls comment as you will ... as extremely as you would like!!!

Triathalons are a huge commitment - especially if you have lots of other new things going on.  If you do decide to go ahead with it, I wish you lots of luck!
