I think C is really enjoying the new machine!  He's washed 3 loads since Friday! Roll Eyes  Hey as long as he down't overload the machine, use lots of detergent or mix darks with whites.....I'm happy!  It'll give me time to do my new embroidery kit.  One of 4 so I'll be busy!
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody!!!!
Mine started yesterday with flowers and Andrea Bocelli CD's!  I had gotten C some Lindt truffles(hard for me to buy since I'm a Pescatarian, borderline Vegan  Grin) and I found some vintage Coca Cola metal coasters on E-Bay.
I thought he'd enjoy them and I'm glad he is!

Hubby is sick with either the flu or stomach flu! Sad   So I'm petrified of getting sick because of the MS.  If I get sick it could cause an me either to have an a flare or something else could pop up! Roll Eyes  I feel so bad for him,but in the same note I'm trying to keep a distance.  The Lysol can has become my new best friend!!
One of my aunts dropped off some food supplies for him.  That was so cool.  He's got his gingerale and I made him toast this morning.  I hope this illness leaves as quickly as it came!
Not much else happening due to the snow already here and another storm coming tomorrow. Shocked Roll Eyes  I feel like a caged animal!!!
I have been teaching myself to knit though with tutorials that I could connect with on the internet.  Some of the tutorials are of poor quality or the camera angle is all wrong.  I've practicing my 2 needle cast on,knit and purl.  When I'm comfortable with that I'll try casting off.
The embroidery is coming along so so.  I really need a good magnifying glass to go with my light.  Practice makes perfect, I guess. Roll Eyes  Wish I had a kit that I didn't like to practice on though.  If this comes out really bad or I don't like it, I'll get another one to do.  Live and learn........
I was watching my DVD on sweatshirt makeovers with Nancy Zieman.  They (the sweatshirts) all look like such fun to make!  When funds are right I'll pick out some sweatshirts and give it a try!  I might have to buy the book though to  get exact measurements.  Maybe I'll look on Crafter's Choice or Ebay for a good price.

I know exactly how you feel.  It doesn't mean that you love your husband any less.  However it's right for you to take precautions as difficult as they may be, to not get sick.  Lysol is your friend. Smiley

Thanks,LD!  It's funny what a day can do.  He's much better today.  So much in fact that he shoveled and went to Rite-Aide!! Shocked  I'm thinking that maybe it was food poisoning Undecided or something he ate that was rancid.  He's been taking it easy, resting because he got a call this morning that he's working tomorrow day and night!  I hope his strength is back!
It's snowing.......again!  Maybe 1-3 inches this time,we'll see.

So there's about 21 inches of snow here from that "snow storm" a few days ago. Roll Eyes  Another storm is being watched for Friday....................
I tried Cassia as a deep conditioner yesterday and kept it in for an hour.  Gritty to rinse out,but 45 minutes later after rinsing it wasn't too bad.  I single braided my hair and forgot about it.  Last night it felt thicker, shinier and less frizz especially the ends.  I left it in a braid and this morning everything was intact and still looked nice.  I'm waiting to do the henna, indigo and amla though.  I think once a month I'll do Cassia and do hubby's hair.  for some reason he doesn't want to measure with a measuring tape.  He measures by where his finger stops at some point at his back when he  gently pulls the longest piece of hair.  Stubborn man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy  I think it's somewhere midback.  If I'm lucky he might let me take a pic(fingers crossed!)

Ok,he's all set for the pic!   Yay!  Just gotta re-charge the camera's battery and clear out a few unneeded photos.  So pic to come!
Took that women's shoe quiz and it figures...I'm a barefoot!
I thought I'd be a sneaker though.
My Pilates stand came today and hopefully I'll be back to my practice tomorrow morning or during the day.

Same warning here.  For the sake of the boys and hub's work, we all keep distance when one of us is sick so the others hopefully won't have too many sick days.  Glad your hub could get back to work quickly.

Thanks,Drear.  I think that's a smart idea about keeping your   distance when one  is sick. Less chance of getting the same bug!

Well, hubby and I decided today was just as good of a day to do henna and indigo on my hair.  Last  night I mixed orange juice with 200 grams of henna from Yemen.  This was a 2009 crop and supposedly has excellent gray coverage.  So I mixed it up at about 11pm,covered it with plastic wrap and put the Pyrex bowl that I was using in a plastic bag.  Stuck it in my closet that is always very warm.
This morning I added alittle water to it after I saw the dye released, added about 15 grams of Amla.  Mixed that all up.  In a seperate bowl I mixed up 300 grams of indigo.  Added the henna mixture to the indigo mixture.  Started that at about 10am.  Hubby did all of the applying, I put the plastic wrap on  and then a turby towel.  I really need a really big cotton scarf though.  There's so much of the mixture that the turbi almost didn't fit!! Roll Eyes  It's was soooo heavy!   I kept this on for 4 hours!  I couldn't believe I lasted that long.
So at 3:30pm I hopped into the shower, using my shower chair I spent 45 minutes rinsing the stuff out of my hair.  I conditioned with Suave strawberry conditioner twice, washed with Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness twice and then conditioned with Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness conditioner.  Wide toothed combed it and single braided it.
I must say from what I can see hubby did a really good job!  Most of all the gray is covered and my hair is a very dark brown.  It will take about 2 or 3 days for the color to settle in.  Then I'll know whether it is a dark brown or darker brown.
So that's how I spent the day!!
Tomorrow I' m going to see my sister in Queens.  We'll go toThe Worthy Paws so I can donate my yarn stash and knitting needles that I don't use.  I prefer to crochet and knit with bamboo or wooden hooks and needles.  The place is a not for profit shop that sells stuff to support animals spay, neuter and food.
I till have to get together in a bag all the yarn and seperate the needles, patch my sister's sweater and try to relax tonight!  Maybe if there's a hockey game on, I'll catch that.  Last night's Ranger game was a heart breaker.  Damn those Peguins!!! Angry

I managed to get a pic of C's hair, but he's not happy with the pic.  He says it isn't clear enough! Roll Eyes  I've got to catch him again, but with the Vision Show and the Car Show back to back, I'll be lucky to see him at all.  Ah,such is the life of a carpenter's wife!!!
Wasn't all that thrilled with the henna, indigo and amla. Sad  Maybe I'll add more amla next time.
Weather is getting better here.  The three days of wind and rain has had its toll on me.  Between the headaches and joint stiffness, I'm only too glad to see the rain go.
I started crocheting a new tank.  Not really thrilled with the pattern yet.  Maybe when the pineapple lace part kicks in I'll feel differently.
I'm baking bread right now and it smells good.  I hope it comes out ok.  I had to alter the  recipe alittle. Roll Eyes  It's got less than 15 minutes to go.
Not too much else happening.  Mom is coming in for Palm Sunday and II think Easter.  I need to see her.  Since Grandma passed away I haven't been back to the house. Don't know if Mom can sleep there comfortably.  My house is open to her though.  She says she'll see how she feels there.
Breads almost done so I better take it out!

Ok, the bread came out fine......since then I've been working on crocheting a new tank.  Not sure if I'm going to sell it or keep it.  It is an intermediate pattern that I saw on Knit and Crochet today.  I ordered the yarn, which was rather inexpensive.   It's coming along fine.
After taking the pup to the vet's for a nail trim, I decided it was do or die for the metal zipper in the newly purchased zip up hoodie.  I had bought a zip up hoodie from Cafe Press that had a Hooked on Crochet logo on it with a ball of yarn and crochet hook.  I thought it had a plastic molded seperating zipper.  I was totally disappointed when I got it to see it had a metal zipper! Sad  I then started to think....well,if you don't like something, change it!  So i called up this guy I deal with at Zipperstop on E-bay and told him what I needed.  Two days later, presto!  The thread and zipper were here.  He has a knack for matching exactly the color I need without seeing what I'm working on. Cool
I thought about what to do about removing the metal zipper and replacing it with the new zipper.  So my trusty seam ripper and I sat down and carefully took off the old zipper, did some sewing of the fabric to secure it down, got my zipper foot for my sewing machine, attached the new ipper and began sewing.  It actually came out near to perfect!  Either beginner's luck with replacing a zipper or it just pays to take your time and it the way you think is the right way.  I had also gotten a few new iron on's that are embroidered that I want to put on. I got a bichon,a white rose, fall leaves, a very cute sewing machine and a flower bunch that I had saved for something like this.  Plus a cup of coffee.I think the lay out will look nice when I'm done.
C left for work so after the hockey game I'm off to wash clothes, clean up the kitchen and try to get to those iron on's.

A zipper!  Good on ya, dear!  I've learned over the years that patience is the key to most things.   Smiley

Angry Shocked Roll Eyes Well after loosing a whole day yesterday to a bad sinus or migraine headache........today I'm starting to feel human again. Cool
My mother came in fromS.C. last Thurs. and I got to see her for the first time on Wed.!  She came over yesterday to try to take care of me with the headache, but I'd rather be left alone when my head hurts that bad.  At least she and C were able to catch up!
Today is C's birthday so after he sleeps alittle bit my mother,C and I will go out for dinner somewhere.
Yesterday was my Chloe's (cockatiel) 10th birthday.  I couldn't even spend any time with the birds due to the headache.  I sat with my head on the kitchen table for 8 hours!   I don't wish these headaches on anybody.
Anywho, prior to the headache, I was able to finish off the crochet cami I was working on.  Came out pretty good for an intermediate pattern.
I've also made scissor holders for the Gingher scissors that C bought me.  I've made 5 so far.  They came out better than I thought.
I'm working on a pai of scrunchy fingerless gloves now in peach, a shrug/bolero and I'll start a fleece jacket.  I'll be busy!
