Combs! Share your stories please

Hi! Smiley I am curious (read: Desperately in need of advice/your experiences). I have a couple questions too, that you may have insight into.
I have a large plastic Revlon comb from Walgreens, wide toothed, that I use to comb my hair right when I get out of the shower in the morning. I do not remember where, but I read that it is best to use a wide tooth comb to best detangle hair when wet, rather than dry. Lately I am looking for a horn comb, but find so many websites!!:

Those are a few of the better ones.

Anyway my questions are:
1)Should I not be combing my hair AT ALL when wet no matter what?
2) Should I be showering at night (with ample time for hair to dry before I lay down for the night) instead of a half hour before work?
3) Can I use a horn comb when hair is wet (bad for horn comb?)? (if I should be using a comb when hair is wet at all in the first place)
4) Who scritches here? Is it for everybody?

Thanks so much!

Hey, Yaku  Smiley

Any comb that you pick up at a drugstore is going to be loaded with damaging seams, so I would advise you to discontinue using it at once. Sadly, I have no advice on horn combs, since the only combs that I use are seamless cellulose.

As to your options, I'd suggest the first one. I never comb my hair when it's wet, as it breaks very easily. But if that isn't a problem for you, it might be fine.

I use my Heavenly Harvest horn combs the most.  I do use them on my wet/damp hair, and then dry them with a towel.

I also have Ric's wooden combs which I like to use in the winter as they produce the least amount of static.  The wood combs should not be used on wet or damp hair and must be oiled/waxed regularly to prevent the wood from cracking.

I have a plastic wide toothed comb that I filed the seams on so that I can use this in the shower to detangle my hair.
