Promoting Your Hair salon business
Sep 18th, 2007 at 3:53am

I figured I would just put this out there for everyone.
I keep having people tell me that they need business
cards, or websites, or flyers, or other graphic design work done.

Well I do work for a Professional Graphic Design company and we do
really good professional work {not a company that half does something}
and are able to give you a finished product that reflects the image
you wish to reflect {not some image that the Graphic Design company
wants to reflect}. Well yea we do everything { there not a Graphic
design project that we do not do}. Well if anyone needs anything done
write me at Nerflight@yahoo. com and I will allow you to check out
our companies' portfolio of past work. I'm sure you will be impressed
with our past work.

Thank you for your time,

Joseph

BB-

Just an FYI, the user above is a spammer who has chosen the use of this board to post unrelated advertising. Sometimes, these people will try to be "clever" and tailor their advertisements to the type of forum to which they are using. But don't be fooled - their interest is a gratuitous sales pitch, not this forum. You should not welcome this behaviour, but delete it at once.

Having seen this done many times on other internet forums, I thought that you should be aware of what this really is. The reason that I chose to reply publically rather than PM you is because I wished to use this as an example for you and everyone else here, should something similar happen in the future. The LongLocks forum is a place to exchange ideas and information - not to advertise irrelevant material.

Thank you for your concern Angel.  I do watch for spammers very carefully and decided to allow this post for the following reasons:
1.  They only posted once.
2.  They did make the post relevant to the site by mentioning hair salons.
3.  They did not include a direct link to a site that was not relevant.

We do allow salons and stylists to post and advertise their businesses, so I allowed this post.  I personally doubt that anyone will contact this person, but they have done no harm here.

It's your call. Other sites are stricter about that sort of thing. And as a former mod at one of those stricter sites, I would not have allowed it. Just sayin'. It will most likely be the only post that this user ever makes anyway.
