OMG, poor cat!!  Cry

And contrary to what La Diosa said, it most certainly is NOT all "just stuff" in the end. Having lived through several fire threats, I have had to prioritize belongings in terms of what I could bear to part with in an emergency and what I absolutely needed. Certain things cannot be replaced. Ever. So I can completely sympathize with the total devastation they must feel. That's a sucky way to start married life.  Sad

I'll save a prayer for your SIL and her fiancé, Lisabelle. Hope they are able to recover and rebuild as much as possible.
As for a silver lining, they will at least have a story to tell in years to come, and I'll bet they make something really wonderful out of nothing.

Wow, I didn't mean to come off as unsympathetic. Shocked  I believe what happened to them is absolutely horrible.

I just feel that regardless of how much you love your "stuff", pets or even people for that matter, if a tradgedy happens and you lose something or someone that is important to you, life still goes on.  That's the beauty of life.  It's fine (and most likely necessary) to mourn your losses, but in the end it's necessary move ahead with life.  Yeah, some things can't be replaced.  However, how can anyone  ever be happy if we're continually sad over all that we've lost?  In this life nothing is forever.

I've lost my mother, grandmother, and grandfather all of whom I was extremely close to, but in the end, life goes on.

Cry Poor kitty.  How terrible.  I'm glad they weren't hurt.  They're really lucky to have you, Lisabelle.

I've lived through a housefire in which everything was lost, including my two cats and one of our dogs (and her seven puppies, who were only a week old(and were born on my birthday))... So my prayers are definately with your SIL and her fiance Sad If you get a chance, give them a hug for me.

It's definately not 'just stuff'. Indeed life goes on, but... you still miss what you had... and at least for me, I'll never stop regretting the fact that I can't pass on my baby blanket and stuffed tiger to my future children (if I have any)... Maybe it was the fact that we were away at my great-grandmother's funeral, and got stuck in a snowstorm (and almost killed) on the way back, only to find our house and everything we had completely destroyed, but... Some things just scar you for life.

I hope your foot is feeling better, Lisabelle :/

I'm sorry about all the things you've gone through lately, Lisabelle.  I'm sure things will look up again soon.  (((Hugs)))

I guess I ruffled a few feathers with my "it's only stuff" comment.  I'm sorry I said it.  Whatever stance we take in regards to it (stuff), it's all a matter of personal opinion, and how we personally, choose to look at things. Wink

Thanks ladies! Smiley  La diosa, don't worry about it sweetie. Wink

Ahh... we did Easter dinner yesterday.  My neice stressed me out and punched me in my eye........  So now I have a shiner.  My SIL was like she hit you then hit her back she has to learn.  So I hit her back, not hard or in the face.  Well little M cried for 20 minutes.  I was freaked..., but her mother said she has to learn.  Needless to say I wanted to go home!

Today I'm going to de-stess and relax...

Even more messed up is that she didn't discipline her own child herself! WTF?!

That's not your job, Lisabelle.
Perhaps you should spend time/holidays away from your husband's family until they can all learn to behave.  Shocked

I know, this kid has no disicpline, she is as nurotic as her freaky mother! Angry  As for staying away till they learn to behave, that would be never.  His mother is a jeoulous cow!  We have the brats birthday party next week then we have to babysit the week after.  Someone please shoot me! Sad
