Wash Day

WALL-E was great. So cute, so amusing, great story, even greater message. And the extras were funny as well.

So yesterday I was wash day. So being a lazy @$$ I decided to just mix some BBAB and conditioner together and just leave it on under a shower cap and towel for about 15mins. My hair is softer after this then it is after the usual hour treatment.  Huh Ookkaayy... well that's good news for my lazy self.  Grin

Simply "wonderful" weather today. It's been in the 30's with rain and that lovely raw tinge to the air. We got a dusting of snow/sleet overnight. All in all pretty nice.   Smiley now all we need is some snow. And according to the winter forecasts this year we should be seeing plenty of it.  Cool

No Wash Day

So no wash day today. The hot water heater finally crapped out.  Tongue Probably the source of the "onion" water and lately the "rubber glove" water no doubt.  Angry So until we have a new one showers should be pretty interesting. And washing my hair is totally out of the question. It used to take two quarts to do my hair when it was around shoulder length it's probably at least double now. Too much hassle so my hair will get a special conditioning treatment from my own natural oils.  Roll Eyes *sigh* My parents totally need to start getting things fixed before the fall apart. First it was the old computer last year and now the water heater.  Roll Eyes If only money wasn't an issue... well at this place in my life I would have to be living in a fantasy world for that to be true.  Roll Eyes Grin

Oh man, our water heater died over the summer too. It was interesting taking completely cold showers,  but you do get used to it. So long as you can get out of the shower before hypothermia sets in. Roll Eyes

That Was The Oddest Wash Ever

So yesterday I washed my hair first time without hot water still.  Roll Eyes But umm it was odd albeit ingenious. I warmed up some water and filled several pitchers with it and used that for most of it then rinsed my conditioner out with cold as usual. Showers haven't been too bad it's basically the same concept. So ABS on length, SEM on ends. Hair feels gummy today.  Huh Perhaps it was too much ABS? But I haven't increased the amount. I figure it's more likely that my shampoo wasn't rinsed out completely.  Tongue Eh hair went in a braid and was out of sight out of mind. All will be normal on Tuesday for my next wash day so we'll see. Tis cold out there with potential snow tonight.  Cool However it will be just as cold tomorrow except with the addition of 30-40mph winds.  Shocked Not so cool.  Tongue

...I Can't Come Up With A Title...  Huh

So yesterday was wash day. Certainly much nicer with the new water heater.  Cool Water stays a constant temperature, no pitchers or "onion" water.  Cool Water pressure suxs though.  Tongue Big time.  Angry Hair still turned out gummy today. I'll try cutting back on leave ins. Must be using too much.  Roll Eyes Getting new shampoo and conditioner this weekend.  Smiley Hopefully they'll be nice.  Roll Eyes

So we had our first measurable snow Saturday night. Not much just 1/2 an inch. Then we didn't even get to 30° on Monday.  Shocked Now it's 57° and raining.  Huh Tomorrow it will be 35° with rain/sleet possibly even snow.  Huh The weather certainly is being weird. It's confusing even my hair.  Tongue It's December, cold, snow period!  Grin

Welcome to global warming. Roll Eyes

And AAAAAAHHHH!! @ trying to watch a smiley marquee across the screen! ... ...  Grin

Water pressure is a key ingredient for washing things. I find showerheads to make a big difference in that department, so would a new/different one help, perhaps?

Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's that simple. The hot water flow is pretty bad in the bathroom sink as well.  Tongue I doubt my parents are going to spend the money to fix whatever the problem may be.  Tongue Such is life in these times eh?

Wash Day... And A Bad Hair Idea

So Saturday was wash day. Usual WC routine with less ABS and SEM. I decided to put my hair in four braids overnight for waves. Used aloe vera gel and oil to set them. When I took them out it looked awful.  Tongue I looked like I had had a run in with a bad crimping iron.  Roll Eyes Makes me wonder if they always looked that bad.  Undecided From now on I will use soft rollers to make waves. Needless to say I had already applied soft hold hair spray and BBAB before deciding this.  Roll Eyes As I combed and brushed at it my hair became very bushy. Which reminded me of why I'm glad I'm not naturally wavy or curly.  Grin After getting my hair tangled into a mess I manged to get it into a braid and wore it as such.  Tongue Got new shampoo and conditioner yesterday will be switching to them on Tuesday with my clarifying routine. Said leave ins have made my hair a greasy gunky mess.  Tongue

We had snow showers on Saturday, it's 60° today, tomorrow we're supposed to have 2-4" of snow and ice and sleet  ...Shocked Huh... weird stuff. Though we probably won't have a white Christmas, we rarely do.  Tongue

Clarifying and Winter Weather

So yesterday was a much needed clarifying day. With the typical routine of clarifying shampoo, DWV rinse, and regular shampoo and conditioner. I also tried out my new shampoo and conditioner. They're both very thick and work really well. I think my hair likes cones. It certainly hasn't felt like this in awhile. A couple more leave ins and I think I may have it under control.  Grin So the usual ABS, SEM, and KO. Hair is into two braids today which made doing S&D so much easier. Will be checking ends every month starting next year for oppressive damage really hoping to delay my trim until at least March if not longer. Seeing as I'm unsure whether or not my hair will stop growing again this summer or not. I so want to reach at least waist length next year. Too many trims and a lack of growing time will prevent that, but I'll guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.  Tongue Not an easy endeavor for an impatient person.  Roll Eyes

We got 3.5" of snow yesterday.  Cheesy Cool With more wintery weather expected Friday and Sunday night into Monday.  CoolIt may not actually snow on Christmas but there might be snow on the ground. That and it's supposed to get freaking cold. ... Which becomes entirely more tolerable as long as there's snow.  Grin Roll Eyes

Wash Day and More Winter Weather

So yesterday was wash day did a TWC routine. Hair hadn't had a deep condition in two full weeks.  Tongue It's exceedingly soft but still incredibly flyaway.  Tongue Such is winter. Leave ins were ABS, SEM, KO. Hair was just in a braid so it can easily be tucked under my coat and hat.

It's cold out there. ... 25°. Yesterday we had all manner of winter weather. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, wind. We got about 3.5" of snow with about a 1/4" of ice. Another storm is coming tomorrow and another on Wednesday.

So today I ventured for the tape measure, allowing ample time for any um... "monthly issues" to have subsided. I've lost an inch from my waist and dropped two pounds! Shocked  ... Cool I haven't weighed 118lbs since I graduated high school! ... Apparently my body likes my exercise and eating habits.  Cool So I'll keep it up and will hopefully maintain this any added losses are a bonus.  Cool

Wash Day and Christmas

So since tomorrow is Christmas Eve and it's obviously followed by Christmas I'm posting today because honestly I'll be too busy to do this then.  Roll Eyes So yes today will be wash day. I'm contemplating a CWC... because I've got serious flyaways.  Tongue Except their mostly triggered by my evil plastic comb.  Angry So I don't know. I might just for the hell of it... We'll see.  Roll Eyes

So yes I being the baking fiend that I am will be making a Nut Roll for Christmas those of Eastern European descent won't be surprised by this choice.  Wink

So anyways after having temperatures that would've frozen limbs off, had I been crazy enough to venture out.  Grin We'll be warmer/seasonable for Christmas. But alas no snow, which is usually the way of it.  Tongue But I really shouldn't complain. Even though we had a low of 9° the other day I know someone, who that same day, had that temp for their high.  Shocked Yep too cold for my blood. ... But honestly 25° with 40mph winds isn't much fun either.  Tongue

So to make a boring story short. Merry Christmas All! See ya after the holiday!
