*tap tap* Um, Tanai? 120 is a perfectly healthy weight for a 5'3" woman. It's not rail thin, no. But it's not obese either.
And yes, I have personal experience with this because that's how much I weigh during *ahem* "that time of the month."  Tongue

Healthier changes are good, but don't go off the deep end when you're already at an ideal weight. Try doing a few searches on healthy or ideal weight, BMI and fat percentage.

I'm also 5'3" with a small frame and I typically fluctuate between 115 and 120. So you know what, hunnay? Don't sweat it. Gain or lose a few lbs. as you wish, but don't go crazy with it. You're a hot mama just the way you are.  Smiley

I know that.  Roll Eyes

I used to gain 2-3lbs during that time when I was younger, I haven't done that in 4-5 years.  Cool

I'm aware of what a healthy weight ect. is, healthier changes would be a bonus. But I'm so "unmotivated" that I've failed to start already.  Grin Needless to say I'm not sure "deep end" stuff would even make a difference, my weight as wanted to budge for years.  Roll Eyes That's probably where my loss of motivation came from.  Grin But those pesky 1 1/4" if I could just make them go away without any more effort then I already do.  Angry *sigh* Looks like they're here to stay as well.  Roll Eyes

*hugs* Anytime, amiga.  Smiley

Motivation comes & goes. That's just kinda how life is. Doesn't matter what sort of motivation it is either. It fluctuates and everybody loses it at some point. You'll get it back.

Personally, I haven't power walked on a regular basis in months, but I know I'll get back on it eventually (probably when the weather cools down). It happens. Just ride the wind, as they say.

Too bad I'm such a classic Aries. I get all enthused about starting something and then I never really follow through/finish out the thing I started.  Cheesy  Roll Eyes

So yesterday was wash day decided against a CWC after I noticed that my length was just as flyaway as it usually is without a CWC.  Roll Eyes Oh well saves time and conditioner. So the usual routine. Pre shampoo treatment, ABS, oil. The same ol' same.  Cool

Today I wore my hair with the front most pulled back and braided and the rest down. I applied a bit more oil on the length after styling it because it looked still too flyaway. It helped, I think.  Grin

Found another fabulous bargain. A $20 purse for $2!  Cool Oh yeah!  Cheesy Only downside is it smells faintly like tires.  Tongue Huh It's just normal dark brown straps, and a cord weave bag. Why the tire smell? Whatever I'm airing it out as I speak...type...whatever. Roll Eyes Oh and did I mention it came with an umbrella, wristlet/card organizer, eyeglass/sunglass case, and a cellphone case.  Grin Even better deal.  Wink Hopefully the tire smell will dissipate soon.  Tongue

Oh, and I satisfied my craving for York peppermint patties by buying a bag of the pumpkin shaped ones.  Grin

A Little Updatage

Yep, they're pretty sweet.  Cool And the filling is even orange.  Wink

Didn't write Sunday, was a) too lazy and b) my life is such a yawn so I didn't feel like updating with a two sentence mention of a hairstyle.  Tongue

So on Sunday I wore my hair half up and accented with my silver and rhinestone butterfly barrette.

Yesterday was wash day, and I did some things different with my pre shampoo routine. I used AKO instead of JO, I warmed the mixture a bit, and I wrapped a towel around my head over top of the shower cap. Well needless to say my hair came out very soft.  Cool Not sure what aspect exactly helped but I shall recreate this on Friday using JO because I have a bottle left, then I think I will just switch to AKO because it's cheaper. But we shall see if the oil was what made the difference.  Wink Huh Needed some oil on the length still. Just can't seem to get rid of those pesky flyaways without having to add something on my dry hair the next morning.  Angry Roll Eyes Still used ABS, and I believe I may be on the verge of running out of conditioner soon.  Shocked Actually I've been using it since late August some I'm really quite surprised it's lasted this long, what with treatments, and longer hair. I'm usually notorious for going through two bottles of conditioner for every bottle of shampoo, but not this time.  Cool

Luckily this strange, warm 70° weather ("Indian Summer") will be coming to an end by the weekend with highs only in the 50's.  Cool I just might to be able to bring my boots out for the first time.  Cheesy Cool

I'm another 4:1 condish to shampoo girl.  My mom always wants to know why I always need conditioner and never shampoo, and why I roll my eyes whenever she gets me loads of shampoo when I gave her the conditioner bottel to compare to the ones at the store. Grin But I need a huge amount of condish to detangle my hair without major death-ness.

Same here. My current conditioner to shampoo ratio is about 4:1. And that's only if I don't dilute my shampoo.

Hmm... Huh

Callisto & Angel Spun: My ratio has never been worse then 2:1. But with this brand it looks like it will be more 1 1/4-1 1/2:1 Only slightly more logical.  Grin Wink Not that there's anything wrong with being illogical.  Grin

So... today I stepped on the scale... why do I do these things.  Roll Eyes And somehow I've gained two pounds.  Huh Shocked My real "question" is where did I put it. I've lost 1/4" from my waist, and fluctuated (again) 1/2" off my hips. Which is totally normal I've been fluctuating the same inch since 9th grade.  Cool No other parts look bigger... so where'd it go?  Huh Grin [sarcasm]It makes perfect sense.[/sarcasm]  Roll Eyes I'm exercising more so I've gained weight?  Huh I figure it's either a) all the excess chocolate I've consumed in the past week. ... or b) it's muscle. I'm actually hoping it's a because b makes it sound like everything I'm doing is counter productive. Yeah, exercise is making me fat.  Roll Eyes Not something I'd want to hear, but would be nice if it worked that way, because I'd sit on my @$$ forever.  GrinCheesy

It is possible that you are gaining muscle.  Since muscle is denser than fat, you can gain weight and loose inches.  That's why it's kinda ridiculous how much stress our society puts on pounds, not body fat percentiles.

Also, people can fluctuate several pounds throughout the day depending on water retention, and stomach/other digestive organ contents.  Personally, I weight about 100 lbs when I get home from school, and if I weigh myself after dinner (rarely, I usually do my homework) I can weigh a pound or two more.

When I went on my trip to Costa Rica, I lost four pounds in two weeks from walking 4+ hours a day.  My dad made me weight myself before and after to see the difference.

Wash Day

Woot! This is the 100th post on my thread! ...

Too true, I know several people who, by BMI standards, are considered overweight when in reality they are nearly all muscle.  Roll Eyes So I suppose I'll weigh whatever I do, as long as my measurements are where I want them. Smiley I'll just have to remember to stay away from the scale after that point.  Grin

Yep that's why I always weigh myself first thing in the morning, sans clothes, because it's your truest weight.

Quote:

100lbs... Shocked I haven't weighed 100 since 7th grade, and around 100 since 9th grade.  Tongue You lucky tiny thing you.  Cool Wink Grin lol.

Quote:

Great way to lose a few, but I can't afford a trip to Costa Rica or some other such trekking getaway.  Grin

So yeah, yesterday was wash day. That new pre shampoo routine worked just as well with the JO as it did the AKO. So that's settled. Oh and my dad makes turban jokes about my towel that I wear over my shower cap.  Roll Eyes See Angel, I told ya I knew what it's like.  Grin ABS, oil as leave ins. Just wore it in a braid today, because it's breezy and I'm to freaking lazy to do anything more.  Cheesy

Today was the first day I've worn a sweater this season!  Cool Course it's a 100% cotton one, but still. Gotta love that brisk fall air.  Grin Certainly feels different then the 77° we had two days ago.

hehe Tanai...you're lucky if that's all the grief your dad gives you about your hair.  Roll Eyes

And don't worry about weight fluctuations - they're totally normal. The important thing is that the numbers are healthy and steadily going down at a very gradual pace.

Weight loss doesn't - and shouldn't - happen overnight. When you're already at a healthy weight, getting down to your ideal weight takes bloody forever. The last 5-10 lbs. are the hardest to lose. It can take months or even years depending on your chemistry. The key factor is consistency. Just keep at it and it will happen for ya eventually.  Smiley

Well, Tanai, I am only in 10th grade Grin.  But, I'm nearly all muscle (four gym classes and three dance classes a week will do that to you) and only 5' 1".  So I'll probably actually loose weight when I stop having gym classes (next year) from loosing the muscle. Roll Eyes

*talks as one without knowledge* What is this weight loss you speak of, Huh it is a foreign concept to me. The numbers can go down? *Blinks wide eyed*  Grin Cheesy

Tongue When I was your age I weighed 116 and I was just a little bit taller. And I actually weigh more now then I did when I had gym classes and had more muscle.  Huh ...Wait a minute... you mean you'll have no more gym classes for the rest of high school?  Shocked Shocked

Today I tried to wear my hair in a French tuck but pathetic bobby pins are no match for the weight of my hair.  Grin I seriously need to find some better hairpins.  Angry So I wore it in a French braid. It was pretty d@mn windy out there today, and not exactly warm. I wore a light cardigan under my blazer to keep me warm. My outfit was probably as goth as I get. Burgundy blouse, black blazer, black dress pants, black suede heels.  Wink It's supposed to be 30° tonight.  Shocked Zounds already!?! So I brought out my down blanket. Time for three blankets seeing as we still don't heating oil.  Roll Eyes Angry Though my mom did say we will get some this week, before prices go back up.

We are only required to take 2 years of gym. After that people either have a prep (free period) take an extra class or take advanced fitness.  But that's really only for people who want to be professional athletes or physical trainers or something.
