Dear Hair Diary,

Happy May day!  I played with my hair alot today.  Tryed diffferent looks and clips.  Got some green rugs for the bathroom.  We have mice!  So I got some glue traps.  Don said he will deal with them so ewwwwww! he can have it!!!

I got something neat today!  Its a salt crystal lamp http://www.naturalsaltcrystallamps.com/order-salt-lamps-natural.html at my local Home hardware store.  I got the large one.  It a nice pretty shade of pink and a great light!  They have some great health benifits like reduceing stress, depression, headaches and breathing problems.  Hope it works!  If anyone has one of these lamps let me know. Smiley

Anyway I am off!

Happy May Day to you, too!

I bought my hubby a salt lamp a couple of years ago, and oddly enough just got one for myself Friday.  I like them a lot.  The lady at the store said to leave them on all the time, so I'll be trying that to see if it makes even more of a difference.  I got the one for hubby to help him reduce stress and I'd say it works even with the lamp on for fairly short periods of time.  Enjoy!!

Hubby and I got one for Christmas as a gift.  It doesn't plug in though,it needs three tea lights.  Hard to light those little cups when they're way down in the salt lamp.  I did try to find votives that would fit,but no luck so far.
I like the effect of it though when I do have it lit.

Sakina, wow that's cool!  Cool  I really do think they reduce stress as this morning Don got up at he usual work time even though its his day off but after sitting in the living room for a bit he went back to sleep. This is very rare so I think the lamp (which is on in the living room) relaxed him.  We had it going lastnight and it felt very peaceful Smiley

Curlygirl,  Cool one with candles!  They even have ones with a little pot on top for fragrant oils.  I suggest getting really long matches or a bbq lighter to light the lamp.  I like the bbq lighter as I always use to burn my nails lighting candles in deep holders.

lol!  You and me both(lighting fingernails)  C has a long lighter, but it's out of fluid Embarrassed  I used to use long wooden matchsticks to light the fireplace when I was a kid living in NJ.  The sticks were actually made to sparkle with colors when you lit them.  They were so cool!!
Thanks for the tip!

Dear Hair Diary,

I just oiled my hair with Amla oil and put it in a braid. I did not put my curl activaor in after I washed the other day so my hair is now straight.

Did not feel to well today. Don and I just lazed around the house and then went for a nice walk.  Ever have one of those days when you need a good cry?  Well I did and felt a little better afterwards.  No matter how I try lifes changes can get me down sometimes.  I always manage to bounce back thought.  I guess trying so hard not to let things bug me built up and I just cried.  Maybe I am just getting old...

Anyway I am off

Lisa I hope you're feeling better.  I remember seeing that Amla hair oil in Indian shops but I didn't understand why anyone would use oil in their hair at that time so I never tried it.  There are no Indian (or other immigrant) shops in my local area.

I finally bought some houseplants.  I got three different breeds of Ivy vines.

Hmmm...what types of ivy did you get?  I was thinking about growing ivy in an area of my house where there isn't much light, but then decided to perhaps just go with a silk plant.  Are the real ones easy to take care of indoors?

Thiniking of bedroom decor how about a fountain?

Actually, that's a great idea.  I have one in my garage because I didn't know what to do with it.  Only thing is when I moved it upstairs it didn't go well.  The wall where I want to put it is such a large area that the fountain, eventhough it's a floor fountain, just looked dwarfed in the space.  So it's back to the drawing board for me.

They sell those salt lamps that you mentioned at my local Whole Foods.  My husband suggested that I buy one because they are so pretty, but I don't know where I would put it.  I had no idea that they were theraputic.   I was considering getting a happy light http://www.verilux.com/light-therapy-lamps/happylight-light-therapy because I always get winter blahs.  I'll read up more on the salt lamp...perhaps it will help with that. Huh

I've had times in the past where I'd hold in greif too but sometimes you just have to cry and let it out.  Hope you're feeling better now. (((hugs)))

Thank you love!  Maybe you can order Amla oil over the net if you want to try it.  I find that in the winter my hair craves it alot.

Hi honey!  I do not know the names of the ivy I got but here's a pic of them.
...
They were only a dollar each at the store down the block. Smiley
I tryed a small bowl fountain but I need to find the right place for it.  I use to keep it in the window of my old place and put plants around it. Which had a nice effect I am just trying how to do that here.. Huh
I say give the salt lamps a go.  There very pretty and perhaps they will help with the blahs. Smiley
I am feeling a bit better now.  I do know that the sad feelings will come and go.  I guess it all part of changes in my life. Thankfully I have my friends here at Longlocks. Smiley  I love you all! Smiley Kiss

Thanks for posting the pic.  The one on the right looks the most familiar to me, perhaps English Ivy.  Anyway, I may go with silk plants.  The area where I'm putting it is high so it's fakeness probably won't be noticable anyway.

Can you put your fountain in between the plants where they are now?

I like fountains and plants together too.  I had a set up like that on my meditation altar but my plant got too big so I recently had to repot it so now I need a new one. Tongue  Too bad I don't have a store close to me that sells plants for a dollar.  That's a sweet deal. Smiley

Thank you la Diosa I am feeling alot better Smiley

This is what I did with the plants in the window.

...
I added my buddah fountain and a new plant!  I think its a Pothos (sp)?  I got two and out them in one pot. There is also Don's lucky bamboo plant to the left of the green bunny.  The other ivy is on the tv.  My bonsai is gone..oh well.. Embarrassed  I might get another on though! Smiley  You peaked my interest with the silk plants. I want to get some sort of tree for the hall way...a fung shui thing...to detract attention from my bedroom upon coming down the hall from the front door.  Once we get blinds for the windows I will be putting plants in the bedroom too.  That leaves the washroom...was thinking of a Boston fern...don't know yet, mind you a stag horn fern would be awesome!!  My area has tons of house and outdoor plants at the convences stores..cheap too! The green thumb is at it again Smiley

Dear Hair Dairy,

Hairs quite happy with the previos treatment Smiley   Need more Shikakai powder. I am back to religously oiling my hair at night.  I spray down the ends with rosewater and then just add a dab of Jojoba oil.  Sometimes I perfume the oil as well, mostlly with BPAL scents.  Been doing the bun thing alot.

Don got me a calligarphy pen and I have been having a ball!  He was quite impressed with my Japanese characters ...  It fun to see how our realtionship is growing.  We learn new things about each other.  Don`s other girlfriends (after his wife passed) were, for lack of a better word, airheads.  Hence he was never exposed to alot of art or culture.  He is getting use to it and is learning to appericate it which is really cool.  He is also a water sign so this helps a bit.  We are pieces and scropio and interesting combo.  (Ìm the pieces)...`

Today is D day the the mouse that has been running around our place!...  I have reset the traps. this morning I got up, came into the kitchen and the little bugger was sitting on the floor looking at me like haha!!  Wooo it s war now!!

hehehhheh!!!

bye for now!
