Angel, my internet daughter, you know I love you and your offer is more appreciated than I can ever say.  But no, my dear.  I want you to grow your hair for yourself and no one else.  Love ya, kiddo! Cool

... Love you too, Trish. And I certainly will; just remember that you will be thought of all the way. Wink And have you tried any of Pantene's Full & Thick or Sheer Volume products yet? I've used both...just thought I'd throw it out there.

Shocked Holy turkeys, sister, I could blow through that in 3 seconds! Grin

I did find a great looking site online for shoes that I'll be trying out.  It's called 6pm.com -- has anyone shopped there?  I'm impressed because they have a wide range of widths (I need a wide shoe) but the shoes are still very stylish looking.

Just checked it out. They have a lot of average-looking stuff...I found it rather funny that they put Harley Davidson sneakers under the boots section. Roll Eyes

You changed the color of the ribbon in your avatar again, didn't you?  Okay, now you're just toying with us!!!   Grin

No, I haven't tried the Full & Thick or the Sheer Volume products.  You say you tried them...but do you think they worked?  I was just going to stick with the Ice Shine line because it really has made my hair super shiny and nice looking.   Smiley  I'll check out those other two, though, and give 'em a whirl.

Yeah, some of their stuff is whacky but I was able to find several shoes that I like.  In fact, I've already ordered one pair and I hope it fits.

Sorry, that you'll have to cut your hair or not if the volumizing shampoo works for you.  Perhaps it will.

A 500.00 shopping spree...that will be fun! Cheesy

Hair
2 1/2 days until The Cut.  I'm ready...I mean, I feel as if I'm okay with this event.  Who knows, though?  --I may get in the chair and panic!  Anyway, it's a wash day, so hair is down.  Do you want to hear some irony?  I'm juuuuust a centimeter, literally, away from reaching BSL.  And now I'm cutting it off.   Grin  Ain't life a hoot?!   Wink  So, I think this morning may have been the last time I wash my hair before...you know when.  I mean, my stylist is going to wash it anyway before she cuts it, so why do it twice?  Over the weekend I bought some Pantene Volumizing products--the shampoo, conditioner and the mousse.

Fashion, dah-ling
Oh my god.  I spent so much money this past weekend it's insane.  --And I'm not done yet.  ---And my husband is a willing participant!!   Grin
I've never before spent *that* much money in so little time.  But all of the clothes I've bought thus far are good quality items that should last for quite a while.  My husband and daughter helped a great deal because I'm just not real swift at putting together outfits.  Basic stuff, yeah, I'm good.  But when it comes to finding complimentary colors and stuff?  I need all the help I can get.  At one point yesterday I felt  like a barbie doll...I was in a changing room and they were handing me clothes left and right, playing dress up!   Grin  Seriously, though, I bought a TON of new office clothes but I honestly have needed to do this for at least 5 years now.  My daughter said, "Mom, when you said you were going to buy a whole new wardrobe, I didn't think you really meant it!"  I'm still working on the shoe situation, waiting for my orders to arrive.  I hope I don't have to try on any more clothes for a very, very long time!!!

So...new clothes...new hair coming on Wednesday...thankfully, though, same ol' Trisha on the inside.   Cool

It's been quite awhile since I tried the Sheer Volume shampoo, so I don't remember if it left a "coating" or not. This is, of course, a much different coating than the opaque shampoos leave. Tongue So far as I can recall, Sheer Volume shampoo was just a clear Pantene shampoo. No more, no less.
Sheer Volume conditioner is very light. I have used it as a light conditioner before in CWC routines.
Full & Thick shampoo is clear, but leaves a bit of a coating on the hair to plump it up. It's not waxy or greasy or anything. Just feels a bit strange after washing & rinsing.
The matching conditioner is medium weight. Not the lightest in the range, but certainly not the richest. I did not notice any additional body or fullness when using these products, but they are nice.

It's a bit of a rush at first, but you'll get used to it, hunnay. Cool Grin The first time I dropped serious coin on couture, I was like ... $90 for a blouse, ZOMG! Grin Now I can do it without batting an eye, if it's something I really want.

Hair
No wash day; hair is in a high ponytail...probably one of the last ponytails I'll ever make with my own hair.  Ugh.   Tongue  1 1/2 days until The Cut.  Starting to feel a little nervous about tomorrow.  Not in a bad way, though; more of a "let's get this done" nervous.  I'm trying not to engage in too many of the "lasts" because I get a little knot in my stomach...you know, last time I make a ponytail, last time I'll be able to wear this clip, etc., etc.  That type of behavior is too melodramatic and not like me at all.  I refuse to be sucked into feeling sorry for myself.   Cool

Other
Secretary is still out, spending time with her ailing mother, who is not doing well at all.  She's not sure when she'll be back.  Meanwhile, Yours Truly has been playing secretary for most of last week, yesterday and today.  *sigh*  Oh how I miss my cozy office with the comfy chair!   Sad

CUT DAY

Wednesday 18 February 2009
Hair
About 4 1/2 hours until the big cut happens.  I just threw my hair up in a ponytail this morning; didn't spend a lot of time on it, since it's going away later.  Ugh.  I'm nervous, excited, happy, sad, anxious, hopeful.  You name it, I'm feelin' it.   Tongue

Other
At least the secretary is back today, so I can hide back in my own little office.  Aahh, I missed you, comfy chair!   Smiley  Almost time for me to swap the backup tapes (which I do every Wednesday).  I'll sign off for now but will probably give y'all an update after I return from my stylist.

CUT DAY
part dos

Wow.  My hair looks (and feels) amazing.   Smiley
First let me say that Sheryl at Wanda's Coiffures should have her fingers insured for a million dollars.  Seriously!  She lathered up my hair twice, giving my head a good but gentle scritching.  Good grief, did that ever feel wonderful...  Sometime I wonder if a lot of women don't go to a salon *just* to get their hair washed by someone else.  Magically relaxing!

I showed Sheryl a picture of the cut I wanted (because I'm good like that) and she agreed that it's a great one.  The example in the picture was short, just below the ears, but I asked Sheryl to cut it a bit longer, around mid-neck.  I kept my eyes closed the whole time and really wasn't too stressed when she began snipping.  Well, to my surprise, Sheryl  only cut my hair to collar length.   Shocked  So I *still* have plenty of hair to play with!!!   Cool  I have to admit, this is a very good length for my face.  I like this style...but, then, the true test will come when I have to wash and style it myself.  Of course I'll post pictures as soon as I can.  Whew!  ...glad that's over with!

Hair
Woke up still loving the cut.   Smiley  Didn't wash today; just combed it out a little and used a small amount of hairspray.  My hair is even long enough for me to make a ponytail--a small one, but a ponytail nonetheless.  I'm getting lots of compliments on the cut.  Hubby and daughter like it a lot, too, and daughter thinks the new cut makes me look younger.  MUST TAKE PHOTOS for y'all to see!!!

Fashion, dah-ling
So with the new clothes and the new cut, it's amazing how wonderful I feel...simply wonderful.  It's as if I've been refreshed...rebooted with new software or something!   Grin

A couple of hitches in the wardrobe makeover, though:
1)  The shoes I ordered from 6pm.com are too small, so I must return them.  Haven't decided if I'll try a half-size larger or simply try to find some locally.  *sigh*  Curse you, wide feet.
2)  One of the tops from Van Heusen has to be returned; the tiny ruffles on the front frayed quite badly and that's simply not acceptible.  I must say, I was very disappointed in the Van Heusen selection for ladies this trip.  VH has always been my go-to store...but no more.   Sad
