Recently I've been on a bit of a 'make my hair browner' kick. Sometimes I get tired of the inbetweenyness of my brown/blonde hair and I, for one, would like to be part of the glittering throng of 'brilliant brunettes' So I've bought Sunsilk's brunette enhancing leave in stuff and also (on another occasion) Superdrug's brunette enhancing deep conditioner. Both contain chesnut 'extract' or whatever, and the Superdrug one also contains henna!
Sunsilk Leave inOther Sunsilk leave in's I have tried have been excellent and left my hair soft, if a little coated. However, this one (which I applied to damp hair after washing) just made my hair a bit tangly and difficult to comb. Although I DO think that my brown bits were a bit more radiant...constant use could produce good results I think. The smell was a little weird too. I don't think I'm a fan of the chesnut, as nuts go.
Superdrug deep condishThis stuff comes in a HUGE tub and is sort of sparkly! It's really nice and thick too. It was so satisfying to just put my hand in and scoop the thick goop out! So that went on in the place of my normal conditioner. It said to leave on for 5-20mins depending on the amount of treatment needed. I wanted to leave it in for the full 20mins but I really couldn't be bothered to stand around in the cold with a shower cap on so I got back into the shower after about 7mins. When I rinsed it out the water swirling down the plug hole turned orangey-brown...I guess that was the henna! When my hair dried the results were exactly the same as the Sunsilk leave in!!! I don't think my hair likes chesnuts either...thats probably why it fails to commit to the brown colour. *sigh* I'm definately going to try both products again...I can't throw out full tubs of stuff can I??!!!!! Heresy! I think I'll just leave the Superdrug stuff on for aaaaaaaaaaages and maybe not sleep on my wet hair after using either, cos that leads to tangles.
I wanted fun, soft brunette hair dammit!!!!
I still can't believe my hair brushes the tops of my thighs!!!!!!! It's crazy.
