Ok folks, help me out.  This week is the beginning of my OT.  I get up at 4 am from Monday to Friday.  On these days I take care of the animals, put on make up and get my stuff together and then I leave for work at 5:15.  I work until 3 pm and come home, arriving back at 4:15.  I look after than animals (feeding, poop scooping, kitty litter and such) until 4:45.  I then cook dinner and spend an hour cleaning the house.  Then I work on my home computer until 8 pm at which point I go to bed (that gives me 8 hours to sleep).

Friday at 2 am I woke up to the real Joeydog crying. I thought he needed to go out. He could not get up.  I had to carry him outside, hold him while he did his thing and then carry him back up the stairs.  I started working at home on the work supplied computer at 3 am.  I put him up on the bed with me.  He needs a medication that I have not used before because it would compromise his already compromised liver and kideys.  At this point it is the lesser of two evils.  I put him to sleep (known as a PTS in my world) for the pain now  or I give him 2-4 more good months with meds that will take away the pain but will kill his aforementioned organs after that time period.  I put in a call to my vet asking them to advise me and supply the meds.  I worked through until 4 pm with no call from the vet.  I called the vet office at 3:55 before they closed at 4 and was assured the vet would call me.  Well, it is 3:30 am Saturday night...or Sunday morning and no word yet.

Sat morning (this morning for me), I got up at 6 am (alarm and all) and did house cleaning, then left the house at 7:45 and drove to the grocery store and did groceries, then I went and had my hair trimmed and colored (and while I waited for my hair to 'cook' I took my work laptop in and did work for an hour.  Then I went for lunch with the folks as my cousin (remember, from England and working in the US for 3 months) was up.   Cousin wanted him and I to go out alone tonight so I flew home, cooked up 24 meals, washed the dog bedding and my bedding, did the ironing and set out 3 hours from the time I got home.  Cousin and I went into the city (60 minute drive) did a site seeing tour, had dinner and I got home at 10:30 pm at which point I folded laundry, packed and froze the 24 meals I made, finished up the ironing, vaccumed the house, cleaned my kitchen, had a quick shower and now, here I am at 3:30 am.

So, what do I want help with?  Well, when I spoke with my boss on Friday at 4 I questioned my vet not getting back to me.  She said that the vet had not because my vet "had a life".  These words have haunted me since she said them.  I mean, when the alarm went off at 6 this morning...that was all I could think about...other than the fact the night went by too fast.  Does she mean I am too demanding or that I don't have a life because I am too busy trying to be...perhaps perfect?  Or does she mean both?  Ugh.  I honestly don't know how people fit everything in.  I just can't and yet all my friends tell me I must have an invisible twin in my life since I do 2 peoples work in a day.  Am I totally screwed up?  Why can't I run my house, my work and my animals and have any time left over for a life?  What am I doing wrong here?

Well, 3:43 am and I have to sleep now.  Alarm set for 7 am so I can get tomorrow's jobs done before I start the week again.

Oh, go figure, still neglecting all your journals.  Done it so long, I don't even get emails telling me you have posted something.  How pathetic is that!!!

I'm sorry the real Joeydog is not doing well.  In high school I was faced with a similar situation w/our dog, Mandy.  We were out of school (my sister and me) and mom was at work.  I know Mandy was suffering and we were on the verge of taking her in to PTS.  I really didn't want to make that call and so I got my sister, we held hands and I prayed that if it was for her highest and best good that God take her so we wouldn't have to feel guilty about PTS.  After the prayer, I layed down to nap being emotionally exhausted and then there was a thump against my bedroom door.  She had been sleeping in the hall when she couldn't move much.  She was laying up against my bedroom door.
God took Mandy in less than an hour of my prayer.  Even now as I type this I'm crying from grattitude, and that was 20 years ago.

Maybe ask your boss to clarify what she ment.  People who fit everything in have maids and buttlers.  The rest of us simply don't get it all done.  If we were sitting at your table having a cuppa, I'd ask you if you are working so hard in your daily life to avoid feeling.  Something.  Anything.  I don't know, but you might just be distracting your self from your feelings.  Maybe this is just who you are.  However, her comments hit a nerve and that usually means something is there, you may not be aware of it yet.

I agree with Sakina. If your boss' comment is bothering you that much, it might be a good idea to ask her to clarify. I remember when my dad died and a whole bunch of other crap was going on at the same time, I threw myself into my school work so I couldn't have to think about all the bad stuff in my life. I'm not saying that must be what you're doing, but there's a chance.

I'm sorry to hear about the real Joeydog. I hope the vet has called you back by now. I know no matter what course of action you'll ultimately take with him, the decision will be a hard one to make. Lots of hugs to you and the real JD.

Hey folks,

Been about a week since I was last on.  Too busy.  I hate it.  I work 60 hours a week, drive 10 hours a week and then life begins.  Life for me right now involves physio (45 minute drive each way and then physio for an hour) since I have ripped all the tendons in my leggs.   So much for running to lose the weight!!!  The real Joey (again 45 minutes driving each way) is in a chiropractic thing once a week.  Add into that my weekly appointments with the hospital or my doc and of course it is dentist time.  Then you add in my family and animals.  I am beat.

Hair is doing well.  Had it trimmed last week so can't say how long it is but it is health.

Will talk soon....I hope.

I pray you are all well.

Hey,

Thanx for the support LD and Lisabelle.  Not much new to tell.  Still doing the same things as written before.

One of my male friends (and his wife) came out this weekend to take some of the wood I chainsawed in the spring and he was kind enough to do my eve troughs (ok, spelt wrong but you get the idea).  Phew, I just CANNOT do heights!!!  I think I manage pretty well out here, but I am still a woman who cannot do all!!!  I work with both parties of the marriage and the wife told me I can borrow her hubby for things like that anytime.  It is good to have friends!!!  The hubby (I am not using initials because they have the same initials) and I are closer than wife and I...but that is only because I have known him longer.  I met her 2 years ago (they were not married then but were engaged) when they came out for wood and then she started working with us about 1.5 years ago so I started to get to know her.  I have known him for 5 years now.

I colleague of mine has hair down to her butt.  I can't say it was the healthiest I have ever seen...but it was that long.  She cut it all off 2 weeks ago.  It turns out it is because she has breast cancer and she has to do chemo.  I have seen a link here where people disagree with hair donations.  Imagine how she feels right now.  Darn, I wish that my hair was suitable for donation.  Sadly, it is not, nor is it long enough.  Perhaps she donated her own.  Her prognosis is good.  I keep her in my thoughts.  She is a not what I would call a friend...but working in a place with 1000 people, you can't get to know everyone well enough to be friends.  I know her to work with her, but not as a friend if you see what I mean.  I do like what I know of her.

Hair:  well, it seems healthy.  I have not measured it since my trim.  I guess it is mid-November and I should do.  Perhaps I will get it done this week.  I put the measure in my purse but I often forget to ask one of my friends to do it once I get into my work in the morning.  I am in at 6:30 and the next person arrives at 8 that I would ask...so by then it is far from my mind.

On that note, I have to shower.  I have 90minutes until bed and it will not dry in that time.  The drier the better though.

LOL, this is the only place I know where I can say I have to go wash my hair and nobody will take offense.  I will try to do other people's journals soon.  The next week is hell.  After that, some outside of work things will lay off.  The OT will go on for a few months though.

JD

Hello All,

Just a quick note to let you know I am still alive and thinking of you all.  Haven't even checked my personal email for 3 weeks.  With the physio, doctor appointments, xmas coming and the over time....there is not time.  Heck, tonight for the first time in my life (remember my currents dogs are 14 and 15) I interviewed a dog walker.  Wish I could afford a maid!!!

I will get time to chat around xmas I reckon.  Take care all.  Hope you are all doing well.
