No superstitions, really.  But there is a very direct correlation betweeen how I feel about my hair and my general mood.  So much so that my husband has said, "You need to get your hair done."  This virtually stopped when I grew my hair long.

No superstitions or saved tails here.  I did sell my tail once - I was ready for short hair and wanted nothing more to do with my long hair.

Yes I have actually cut a 4 foot ponytail, chin to back of knees; I used to be 6'1", now I'm 6'. I cut all my own ponytails before going to the salon and I store them in tissue in my cedar chest.

My husband claims that I am Pagan, but that is because we have differing ideologies; his is accusatory.

I believe that I was given a special gift; my hair grows about 14-15 inches a year. So, when I decide to grow my hair to my rear it only takes 3 years to do so.

I would love to submit a photo of my hair, I'll get on that as soon as I meet a research deadline of 6/11. I'm afraid my hair has been neglected during my last semester, so it needs a little TLC before coming out.

BikerBraid: My thesis is on the Recovery Model aka Harm Reduction.  Treating the dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mental illness. Starting where the client is instead of requiring the client to jump through hoops to get treatment and/or aid.

I returned to school after a carreer in Human Resources. I have raised my kids and saved for retirement, now I'm pointed in the direction of self actualization through a personal relationship with the conditions of being human and celebrating diversity. I lived the first half of my life for me; I choose to live the second half for us.

Your thesis sounds interesting.  In my prior carrer I worked with adults with mental illness and/or brain injury.  A challenging group to work with.  Good luck with your research.

I remember the first trim I got after deciding to grow it out--I must have been in the 3rd grade, and I hadn't trimmed since kindergarten.  I insisted on keeping the inch that was cut off because I liked the really shiny gold it turned in the light and thought it was pretty.

For the record, it really was gold- however, it didn't stay that color.  It also wasn't very important to me after I got it off my head and I threw it away about 2 weeks later.
