Oh my!  Garter belted stockings!  Boy does that bring back some really old memories!  Pantyhose did not exist when I started wearing stockings.  How I hated that garter belt!  Of course I also hate pantyhose.  I only wear hand knit socks or nothing at all!  I'm working on some kneehighs to wear with skirts this winter.  But good for you for deciding what will work for you and going for it!

In yesterday's post, I received a sample of Pantene "Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing" shampoo and conditioner, and used them this morning.  Wow...I like!!    Smiley Both products seem rich and thick and smooth and creamy.  Now I want to purchase bottles of both, to try them for an extended length of time.  Even though I don't colour my hair, the extra moisturizing compounds couldn't hurt.  Tre Semme, you may have a rival!   Cool

I have one word for my garter belt and stockings:  COMFY
I'm so happy to have found what seems to be a perfect match for my needs and sense of style.  Yay!

I have another word for the stockings and garter belt look: SEXY! Woohoo!  Grin
I used to wear them in high school and actually found them to be quite uncomfortable and switched to the conventional pantyhose...well, and fishnets (goth, remember).  Wink  Isn't it funny how one person's nightmare can be a haven for someone else?

Please let us know how you like the Brunette Expressions S&C. I've been thinking of trying them for quite sometime now (my grandmother, rest her soul, even used them before she passed...and my mother uses the formula for redheads).

Made a trip to Wally World before work this morning to buy the Pantene products.  I imagine Angel is shedding a tear of joy at the thought of my possible Pantene conversion!   Grin
Anyway, I chose Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions, Daily Color Enhancing, Intense Hydration, Nutmeg to Dark Chocolate s+c.  Sheesh, what a mouthful to type!   Shocked  I can't wait to begin using them tomorrow and find out how they work for my hair.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Yes, yes she is.  Grin

Nah, I just hope it works great for you and makes you (and your hair) happy. Or that you find something else that does.

It sounds like you have the kind of hair colour that I covet. hehe I'm in the Toffee to Almond range.  Roll Eyes

What do you think was my first thought upon awakening this morning?  Was it, "Yippee, it's Friday"?  Or "Oh, what a beautiful morning"?  No.  How about, "I get to start using my new Pantene products today, WOO HOO!!!"   Grin  What a hair freak am I.

The Pantene products, Brunette Expressions, feel and look wonderful.  Thick, rich and creamy...sounds like a good dessert, doesn't it?!   Grin

I shampooed first (tons of lather), and then did a vinegar rinse.  Every time I change s+c I do a vinegar rinse, regardless of whether I've already done it that week or not.  Clean slate and all that.  Of course I ended with conditioner.  I especially like the conditioner; it's thick enough to stay put in the palm of one's hand.  I detest thin, runny conditioner.  The products have a nice, light, clean smell--very enjoyable.  My hair feels soft, had very few tangles upon combing out, and doesn't look frizzy or flyaway, which had been a small problem this week and last.  I plan on using Pantene for at least a month or until I run out, whichever comes first.  Then I'll reevaluate.

Hair
I've used the Pantene Brunette Expressions s+c twice now, and both times have been happy with the results.  Hair is soft, shiny, less prone to tangles...yep, so far, so good.  I'll see how I feel at the end of a month, though, before passing absolute judgement.

I've been making a point of writing every day--journal entries do not count.  I want to develop creative writing as a habit, even if it's only for 15 minutes at a time.  Right now I'm working on what's called a "cozy" mystery.  Before last week I didn't even know that's what those types of mysteries were called!   Grin  I always enjoyed reading what I call the "kinder, gentler" sorts of mysteries--just didn't know they had their own genre!

Hair
Pantene's Brunette Expressions again this morning.  For a while, I've decided to shampoo and condition every other day, instead of attempting to go 3-4 days without cleansing.  No particular reason except that I enjoy the look of my hair clean as opposed to slightly greasy.

So this morning makes, what?  Three washes with the Pantene products.  I'm still lovin' it, though I'll know better at the end of August whether or not I'm totally converted.
   Cool

The writing goes well.  Disciplining myself to write every day seems to be working for me.
With the garter belt, I ordered 5 pairs of stockings.  I received only one pair, the rest being back ordered.   Angry  If the other 4 pairs do not arrive in today's post, I intend to call the company to see if they can tell me an approximate shipping date.  I can make do with having only one pair of stockings, but really shouldn't have to.

Hair
LOVING the Pantene Brunette Expressions   Cool  Last week I thought it was only my imagination when I began to notice subtle changes in the color of my tresses, as in I could see clear defintion between the brown tones and the reddish tones.  But then a coworker from another department remarked upon the "pretty, natural highlights" in my hair.   Roll Eyes  It's GOT to be the Pantene, because nothing else has changed!

I adore how the Pantene makes my hair feel...smooth, silky, soft.  It makes my hair look glossy and shiny and super "brunettey".   Grin  I believe I've found myself a new favorite shampoo/conditioner!

Other
I called the stocking store this morning to find out if they had any news of my back-ordered stockings.  A nice lady told me their latest shipment should be arriving at the store by the end of this week and I will hopefully receive my stockings next week.  *patient sigh*   Sad

We are currently in the throes of a typical Missouri August, i.e., hell.  The humidity is oppresive, even to those with a healthy respiratory system.  I tend to think of August as the last hurrah of Summer, and the only thing that gets me through this period is holding onto the knowledge that Autumn is not far away.

hehehe Another one joins the ranks. *eeevil grin*  Wink

How lucky are you that your summers only last until August, Trish? Out here, the "party" keeps going into October.  Tongue  Relish a timely and punctual autumn...ours always seems to procrastinate.

Tuesday I took a much needed day off from work and went on a little road trip with my husband and his parents.  We left the house around 8 that morning and got back close to 3:30 that afternoon.  We shopped, we ate lunch, and it was friggin' fantastic simply being out and about.   Smiley
Today and tomorrow I'm filling in out front for our receptionist, who has also decided to play hooky from work.  She works hard; she deserves some time off, too.
As mentioned before, Missourians are lucky to experience all four seasons and, even as much as I hate summer, I relish all of them.  I can't imagine having the same sort of weather 12 months a year...although I can see how wardrobe planning would be a whole lot easier!   Wink

Hair
I'm wearing my hair today in this octopus-type clip:

http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=32424&...

I'm glad I ordered the large one because already my hair is barely fitting in the bowl of the clip!!   Shocked
Still very happy with the Pantene products...I don't even need leave-ins any more.  Just shampoo, condition, and go.  I'm still doing a vinegar rinse once a week, but that's all.
