Sakina & Trisha: Thank you, ladies. *hugs* If only it worked that way, eh?

Hair: Yesterday I did a WCC with HE Tousle Me Softly S&C + Suave green apple conditioner. In regards to the whole Herbal Essences concept, two things have come to my attention: 1.) even moisturizing HE conditioners must still be mixed with Pantene to be effective on my hair, and 2.) spray conditioner alone is insufficient and end treatments are mandatory.
The roots, however, seem cleaner with HE and my hair feels lighter overall. Just the ends are a bit dry, which more than anything else is probably just another reminder that my hair is simply too long for its texture. *sigh* The good news is that I have end treatments up the wazoo. Roll Eyes

Etc.: Our KS guests are back until Sunday so we'll be out doing things around town with them until then.

My nails got a total overhaul yesterday but for all of the filing, buffing and painting, they still got messed up. Angry Not the end of the world - I'll fix them eventually. Color is dark blood red with a crème finish. No shimmer, no glitter, nothing fancy. I may have another interview next week with a man and men seem to react most to red nails.

What else...? Oh yes, I'm still losing weight, which is weird considering what all I've been eating lately. Only I could scarf Godiva and fast food and lose weight. Roll Eyes
Speaking of which, I should probably attack a morning workout while it's still early.

Well, it's a new month. After a week-long flirtation with Herbal Essences, I'm back on Pantene. Even the most devoted Pantene users take breaks sometimes and that's ok. It's good to try other things - especially new things - even if you just end up going back to whatever you were doing before. The key is to go back to it before your new obsession causes harm.

After a week, HE was up to its usual tricks. Dryness, tangles, etc., but I stopped using it before it got worse and avoided dry skin patches entirely. So yeah...it was fun for the time but I'm over it. Roll Eyes

Earlier this morning, I made a list of all of the different Pantene products that I can still use, which was reassuring. There's actually quite a lot. Smiley I'm still bummed that they discontinued their Purity shampoo and changed the base detergent in most of their new shampoos to SLS but it's not the end of the world.

Anyway, today I clarified - HE Drama Clean shampoo, ACV rinse, Pantene Medium-Thick moisturizing conditioner, blended leave-in spray conditioner. Already my hair is in better form. There really is no substitute for Pantene as far as moisture goes. On Wednesday I'll have to see about doing a WTC.

For now though I want to get outside to run around town and let my hair dry. Our KS guests have gone back home. They said goodbye last night while I watched an old Frankie movie and their plane left early this morning. So I have today free to shop...or whatever.

Health wise, I've had to stop working out for awhile as a 17-year-old back injury has resurfaced. Guess I slept on it weird or something. Undecided Also not the end of the world; I just have to be careful not to breathe too heavily.

Cabin fever is setting in now so it's time to brush my teeth and hit the road.

Sounds like you still have more Pantene products than we do.  I had good experiences with them in the past but won't commit now that I never know what lines will be available or discontinued.

I hope your back problems end soon so it won't hold you back from living life to the full.

Hope your back feels better soon.  Had some problems there myself a couple of years ago.  It was a month before I was back to normal.

Took the bookstore test and it says I am brilliant.  Now that is a test I like. Cool

Drear: Thanks. And yeah, I do believe there are more Pantene products in the US than anywhere else...which makes sense.

Melusine: Thanks - it does seem to be recovering, though I hope it won't take a month. Shocked

Hair: CWC's lately. Today it was after 2 PM before I got a shower so an ACV rinse was mandatory. Resembling wildlife pulled out of the Louisiana oil spill really isn't as chic as it sounds.

For the past few days I've been quite busy and have either forgotten or not had time to measure my hair. The idea has been getting it out of the way so I can go about my business. Measuring will have to wait until things settle down.

Etc.: And what's been keeping me so busy? Well, my sister, her bf and their dog have moved out as of yesterday so I've been helping them get sorted. Anyone who has moved before knows what a craptastic hassle it can be and my sister's case is no exception. Her new condo has 3 different levels, which meant hauling all kinds of things up and down 2 steep flights of stairs. All day. Tongue

This morning I couldn't resist power cleaning my bathroom. Not only are the boogers and dog hair gone but I burned a great amount of calories in the process...in addition to the ones I burned yesterday. Wink

So the rest of the day's been a bit weird. My sister & her dog are over. Her bf was here earlier to wash his truck but has since left.
My mother killed her washing machine and then blamed me for it, which, sadly, is not unusual. Then she told me to "stop being creative," which confounded me. Surely she'd forgotten to whom she was speaking. Huh This after another would-be lecture last night about the absolute necessity of my finding a business career and climbing the corporate ladder (which I largely ignored and interrupted with a totally unrelated diversion like always).
My father got home from work awhile ago and we don't have a Tuesday band practice to rush off to.

After so much work, my nails are pretty beat up. Sad Last night I tore part of a crimson thumbnail off and now I no longer care about repairing any of them. Not a big deal since I won't be interviewing this week anyway.

Later tonight I might walk down to the frozen yogurt place or put a little gas in my car and drive to the coast.
Ciao for now.

Hair: I'd wanted to do a WTC today but my mother and sister stayed home so it didn't happen. There's no way I can get away with that kinda stuff when Mommy Dearest is around to freak out about it. My sister isn't a problem.

So it was another CWC this morning. Still using Pantene Volume shampoo & Moisture Renewal conditioner - loving it. Why the heck did Pantene have to change?! Angry
Anyway, leave-ins were blended spray conditioner and serum. Style is a bun.

Late summer shedding seems to have started already. It usually happens around August. I might have to start doing scalp massages every morning to prevent having to pull loose hairs off of myself all day long.

Finally got around to measuring today - 28.75". Just a quarter inch from the last time I measured so the growth has obviously slowed down for summer as well. Hot weather & I just don't get along.

Etc.: No band practice this week. We have a show on the 20th.

Tomorrow brother Moon Pie is coming over so I can help him put a decent résumé together. He's been unemployed even longer than I have and the only advantage to that is that he can tell me what to expect. He's been really cool about explaining the UI process and reassuring me when I start freaking out. Almost no one I know has a job anymore. It's total crap. Hopefully companies will start hiring like crazy in the fall. Undecided

Hair: Yesterday I did a sort of condensed WTC in the shower since it was all I had time for. Washed with Pantene Volume shampoo, then loaded the Deep Fortifying Treatment into the length, covered with a shower cap and left it that way until the end of my shower. After rinsing it out, I chased it with Moisture Renewal conditioner. Not quite a WTC but slightly better than a regular WCC. I guess.

Today was a regular CWC with Suave green apple light conditioner (which I'm running out of), Pantene Volume shampoo and Moisture Renewal conditioner.

Yesterday I gave in and got the Pantene leave-in spray conditioner for fine hair and got to try it out this morning. It's very light but seems to work well enough. No idea how it would do without an additional end treatment however. Serum was the choice today. Style was a flipped ponytail.

Etc.: Brother Moon Pie arrived yesterday afternoon bearing a veggie delite from Subway. Took me all afternoon to eat it as I was working on his new résumé. He was very pleased with the end result and gave me $50 for my effort, which I initially refused...until he flipped me the bird and dropped the cash on the floor behind me - a shameless gesture of male maturity that I decided would cost him $50. ...

Anyway, he was very excited about the new rez and I hope it helps him in his search. Yesterday I learned that in addition to all of our other odd similarities, he also draws and writes poetry...and the veggie delite is also his favorite sandwich from Subway. Roll Eyes Separated at birth or something, I wonder.

This afternoon I shaped up my eyebrows and redid my nails in serious bling. One of my thumbnails is still deformed from snapping off earlier this week so I used the blinding silver sparkle as a diversion.

Alright, I've yammered enough for now. How 'bout another silly quiz?

Mel: Good results. Wink

Hair: CWC + blended spray conditioner + ELOO. Style is a bun. The ends seem more moisturized today than yesterday. For some reason, serum just isn't working lately. Undecided My hair tangled easily when I took it down last night. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the ELOO today.

Conair has revamped their Velvet Touch brush collection and they just might be too cool for me to resist. Embarrassed They're mostly black now and quite gawthy looking.

Still haven't lost the urge to cut. Embarrassed I just keep seeing too many cute, shorter styles that I know would be more becoming to my hair type. Oy, what's happening to me? Tongue

Etc.: Today was rather uneventful and I seemed to sleep through most of it. But I'm up for anything tonight. I have the house to myself again after the 'rents leave for the bar. Priority one is watching Casablanca. After that..., meh.

So...appropos of nothing, who made the hotter hatter? Grin

Hair: Weirdness. Undecided No luck with the new Pantene leave-in spray for fine hair. It left a disgusting, gritty coating on my hair and killed the shine completely, as if I'd powdered it with chalk. Tongue So I returned it and got the kind for medium-thick hair, which works better but still isn't the greatest.

Aside from that, things are pretty much the same. Same routines, same styles. I'm quickly running out of bobby pins as the protective ends like to slip off and I have to keep getting rid of them. Undecided

Etc.: There was a band practice scheduled tonight but dad & I didn't go. It's my parents' anniversary and they wanted to stay in.

We also got a new washing machine. Smiley Fun stuff.

Trisha: Hear, hear. Wink

Hair: Finally, an honest to goodness WTC. Washed with the old Pantene Volume shampoo, treated for an hour with the Deep Fortifying Treatment, then chased with Suave green apple conditioner.

Leave-ins were blended spray conditioner and serum. The latter didn't make the ends greasy or wonky so there was no need to hide them. Thus today's style was a flipped ponytail.

Etc.: What else is there really? I'm tired as heck and will inevitably sound like a broken record anyway. Blah blah blah music, blah blah blah fashion, blah blah blah unemployment, blah blah blah quiz.

Hair: CWC with the usual suspects. Leave-ins were blended spray conditioner and serum. Again, my hair's not liking the serum so it's wound up in a bun. Undecided

Music: Lizard's taking the band to Sacramento for a political rally in September. Huh So much for sticking to local gigs. I opted out and my father will likely be in the Pacific northwest at the time.

Etc.: At the moment I've just started on a sparkly new manicure for the weekend. One of my sister's fashionista friends is having a birthday party on Saturday to which I am invited.

Personally, I'm flattered that this girl finds her friend's older sister cool enough to hang with and I've already bought her a gorgeous card from Papyrus. Her gift will likely come from Sephora if I have anything to do with it. Wink

But the cracked silver polish of last week had to go. Hopefully to be replaced by something of a darker persuasion. Something that I can put together very quickly. It will be dinnertime when I'm finished.

Hair: CWC again. I'm now using Suave ocean breeze for a light conditioner and Pantene Medium-Thick, Dry-Moisturized conditioner. What a mouthful. Maybe the latter should be abbreviated to MTDM? Then again, with all of the other abbreviations...ACV, W-CWC, S&D, MTDM? WTF? Huh

Anyway, my poor hair's been put through the wringer today between being tossed and blown around, exposed to much sunlight, twisted and pinned up before it was dry, taken down and shaken out. Then I had to run a brush through it because my seamless comb was no match for the resulting tangles. It did more ripping out than detangling, I'm afraid. So when I can afford it I will be getting another set of Conair Velvet Touch brushes, which I've always loved.

Yes, I know seamless combs are best. I've been a LongLocks member for almost 5 years now and have heard all of the arguments against plastic brushes. But you know what? I've also heard all of the arguments against cones, sulfates, Pantene and pretty much everything else I've used on a daily basis for the last 10 years. For every argument, there's a counter argument and breaking the rules is nothing new to me.

Etc.: This afternoon I went with my sister and her bf to a park by the beach for her friend's b-day party. It was warm and dreadfully sunny so I hid in the shade as much as possible. I did get a ton of pix, however, so much of tonight will be spent uploading and editing on Photobucket.
The birthday girl loved the card that I got her as well as the wrapping job I did on the gift from my sister. She also told me that I was tiny and cute and smelled great. Grin Hope she likes my pictures as much, even though her bf is a professional photographer.

After the party, I got home, changed into my painting clothes and touched up the newly green walls in what used to be my sister's room. My parents had been painting it while I was away and I'm a bit jealous of the color. It's a very rich, almost-aqua green. Quite similar to the color that my room was while I was growing up.

Speaking of paint, according to the Behr brand, my eyes are "Pacific Sea Teal." At least in indoor light. Seems fitting considering I grew up on the Pacific. Wink

Well, that's enough blabbering for now I suppose. Time to get some laundry sorted.

Hair: Clarified yesterday. My one and only leave-in was spay conditioner, which is now Pantene's Medium-Thick silkening detangler. Style was a bun and I must say the new bobby pins I bought are much more reliable. The protective ends don't slip off every time I take them out.

Today the routine will be the usual CWC. I'm beginning to like the new Pantene detangler, though I'd still like to try the one designed for curly hair just to cover all of the bases. Eventually.
For an end treatment I'm back to using ELOO, which is always hit and miss. Sometimes it provides decent results and sometimes it leaves my hair as greasy and dull as anything. Today's style depends on said results.

Etc.: Saturday's party in the park left me quite sunburned in places. Angry I should've known...and just when I thought I would make it through the year without getting scorched. It always happens that way.
The crap thing is that I have a photo/video shoot with the band on Friday so I'll be scrubbing and masking as much as possible to try and restore my pallor before then.

My parents and I spent all of yesterday converting my sister's old room into a guest room. The work was exhaustive, especially when coupled with a sunburn, and all my body wanted at the end of the night was to drop into bed and sleep for days. Of course my habitual insomnia had other plans. Angry

But...it's a new day and I'm encouraged by the weight that I still seem to be losing. Slowly but surely.
My sis and her dog are coming over later and there's much to do before then so I'm off.
