The Latest Fashion Trend: Sequins! And They’re Not Just for Holidays!

Since my absolute favorite color is sparkle, I LOVE the fact that sequins are trending as the hottest fashion must have. One cannot own too many sparkly things, it is simply impossible (as I am attempting to prove scientifically through in-depth and thorough research). However, that’s not to say that one cannot adorn themselves with too many sparkly things (with the exception of diamonds, of course).  You have to be careful when donning sequins, lest you end up looking like a call girl rather than an It Girl.

The easiest way to achieve a fashionable look with sequins is to stick with subdued colors: black, white, metallics (bronze, pewter, gold, silver) and pastels.  Wear chartreuse sequins and you’ve crossed the “Worst Dressed” line. Sequin saturation points are important as well, in most situations.  Think jeans with a spangled hem rather than leggings completely covered with sequins from waist to ankle.  If at this point you are even considering chartreuse sequin leggings then I’m afraid you’ve gone too far to the dark side for me to help you, Kermie.  As with everything in fashion, less is more.

Below are some great looks you can use to fashionably sparkle up your look, and they’re not just for the holidays!  There’s also not a chartreuse sequin in the bunch.  Even better, all these fabulous finds are currently available at… (wait for it) …Amazon!  Did you even know that you can find all kinds of fabulous designer fashions at Amazon for great prices, often offered by the design houses themselves?  I did.  My VISA card knows too.  So does my husband, but we needn’t go there.  Let’s try to keep the fun alive.
